Life is has a negative effect
As almost the semester is over, we have learned many things such as finding our discourse, indivisible narratives and how society wants us to do things with certain way. What we have learned in class is that we have to write a certain way since we are young. And when in class, Catlin told us to write how we talked, how ever we couldn't. We were writing how in our pass English teachers told us how
to write academy. We in class we had reading assignments on how gender and race plays a big role for us. Like if you are female or a person of color, you are seen less, have to work harder to get were you want, and usually seen as assistance, or in the background with white people. Thing we thinks are like doctors and nurses. In our minds we always think men are doctors and females are nurses. However, men can be nurses and women can be doctors. Also a great factor is CEOS of big companies. White people are usually at top and a person of color
be their assistance. I feel that Catlin was teaching this in class because we can do anything in life if we only work hard and proof stereotypes wrong. In this class, we also had to also start discovering our interested in our major which connects to class. Since I am a Latina, I am way at the bottom, and a want to be someone great in life. After learning about what we are majoring and about how women of color are seen, I am more courage to go to med school and one day because an emergency room doctor or a neuron scientist.
After reading my passed blog posts and other writing assignment I have seen a change in my writing. I write more comfortable about myself, see the world differently and express myself in writing. I was reading my very first blog, it was very different. It was very simple, more academy writing and not expressing myself. However, having some assignments I started to write for I talk than just write how teachers want us to write. But if we try to just write everything we want with our discore, it will be really had and no work for us.
