Depression often leads its victims to
lose all hope. Silence becomes frustration, and once that frustration reaches a
dead end; suicide seems to be the only solution. However, suicide leaves those
who stay behind with many painful questions, but one in specific. That question
is, why?
Many often think that by not touching
the topic the issue will minor itself, but in reality it does not make it any
better. Avoiding the problem only allows it to spread, and affect others. It’s
like proving that silence is the solution

Silence is not the solution, when
Suicide is ranked the third-leading cause of death for teens. The best way to express your self is by
talking to a professional councilor or therapist. Getting help is the only way
you will end the frustration.Reaching out and speaking up can help end the silence.
Depression can be caused by many
stressful situations in life. For that reason it is often hard to know right
away if a person is depressed. It is important to ask questions and know the
signs that will help us detect if a person is depressed, or has been having
suicidal thoughts.

When we gain knowledge in an issue so
serious like depression, and suicide, it is more likely for us to help those in
need. However, when we are ignorant we are likely to ignore the problem.
Depression is an issue where silence
plays a big role as a risk factor. Now, why is silence not the solution? Well
silencing yourself to your emotions affects you mentally, physically, and
spiritually. When you silence yourself
it not only becomes a conflict with the inner you, but it begins to affect
those around you. You begin to bottle up your thoughts, and emotions often
causing you to feel angry and impotent. In reality silence leads you nowhere,
and it only provokes frustration and guilt.
Depression should be prevented before it
leads to suicide. But, how can we prevent depression? Depression can be
prevented by communicating. When we communicate with others we are more likely
to let go of what is affecting us. If you know anyone with depression communicate
with them, or recommend them to go get help. When we reach out and speak up we
are less likely to be depressed.
Living in a black hole is not happiness,
and suicide is not the last option. Suicide is triggered by a thought of guilt
and the feeling of loneliness. It only takes a minute to commit the action,
when it can be a minute to ask for help. Expressing your self is all we need in
order to start seeing change.
