McDonald's and Obesity
We love food, and we even love it when they are super tasty. Fast
food is the tastiest yet the biggest problem of obesity in the whole world.
However, people don’t care about what they eat as long as they fill up their
stomach with yummy food. The deliciousness of the food influences
people, especially children, to keep eating unhealthy food and living their
lifestyle the way that’s not supposed to be. Obese people are more likely to be
seen almost every day, making them think that the world is somewhat becoming
small, where actually it’s just their perspectives. McDonald’s menus are mostly
contaminated and bacterized with unknown chemicals, which is why the making is
fast and the prices are cheap. We should start worrying about our health and consider obesity as great issue because obesity becomes exceedingly common nowadays in the United States. McDonald’s should be responsible for obesity in
the United States.

McDonald's uses different techniques to attract their customers. One of the most efficient techniques is advertisement. McDonald’s job is
obviously to make money, but the way they are doing it is extremely risky and
it harms people’s health. McDonald’s uses 23 different slogans to advertise their
products in the United States. The probability of advertising their products is
very high because people see their advertisements everywhere every day. In
addition, people get hypnotized by the food from the advertisements. McDonald's is being extremely greedy and they should stop or at least limit the amounts of advertisements they use. We know McDonald's is already famous; therefore they don't need to remind us again to eat there because people will get attracted and will eat McDonald's every day, leading them to obesity.
McDonald’s
is also like to play around with the prices of their food. Two cheeseburger for
example, they cost only $2.58, while the price of salad such as Southwest is almost $5.
Without any doubt from any circumstances, people would rather and more likely to spend
their $5 on buying two or four cheeseburgers than one bowl of salad. I would do the same
thing because not only the price is affordable, but I could get an extra
cheeseburger with the same price, which is better than the salad. That’s another
way for fast restaurants such as McDonald’s to become a successful business,
but yet they disregard their customers' health and let the consequences such as obesity hit them. McDonald's might being nice to their customers for making their food prices low, but behind the low prices, they hide high calories.

Since McDonald's uses many different techniques such as advertisements and low prices, other fast food restaurants also use the same techniques. Consequently, obesity becomes a huge epidemic in the United States. Around 93 million Americans are obese, and the most shocking fact is that 9 million of children are overweight and they are more likely to gain weight overtime. Fast food has gone out of control; therefore, people gain weight easily. Food from McDonald's mostly contains unknown chemicals. Chicken nuggets for example, they are made from unhealthy, repulsing ingredients such as sodium phosphate, bleached wheat flour, dextrose, and many other chemicals. The ingredients can extremely harm people's health. Not only people will add more pounds, but also they are unable to lose pounds.
As I previously stated, obesity is an epidemic in the United States due to the food people consume that are mainly unhealthy. However, we could do something to change and hopefully reduce obesity. Since we can't change McDonald's and other fast food restaurants because they are unstoppable and they will keep producing fast/junk food, we can start from us. For example, we can learn how to cook healthy food, we can teach people to understand what's inside of the fast food, and we can create or join a program to fight obesity. Since fast food restaurants are easy to spot, we need to be careful on what we consume. McDonald's and other fast food restaurants need to reconsider the food they produce because with the number of overweight people that keeps increasing in the United States, obesity will become the first leading cause of death.
