Wars

Wars

Do you ever worry that one-day an enormous war will happen with America?  War always seems to be a big problem. Most Americans don’t know why war is actually happening most of the time until it is actually time to go to war. It is a big worry to everybody.

Another perspective on this is that a lot of innocent people get their lives taken away due to war.  During its air war in Afghanistan, the United States dropped nearly a quarter-million cluster bomblets that killed or injured scores of civilians, especially children. This issue can make America seem as if we’re the terrorists and are starting these wars. If it seems we are starting the wars then other countries might continue to try and fight with us or avoid trying to fix any problem that is going on. It is already bad enough that lives are being taken away, but it is worse to know that innocent children are dying. Why would we allow war to continue if all we are doing is breaking down families? What message would the United States be sending out? We are suppose to protect our future and by resulting to only war and killing the innocent we are only making our world worse.

Why is it that it’s so hard for everybody to get along? There is never an answer why problems can be solved different ways. We the people also don’t have input on anything. If our input was involved in these situations the outcomes might be different. As of March 2013, 10 years after the Iraq invasion, about 53 percent of US citizen’s respondents stated that the Iraq War was a mistake. These wars make people upset and scared. Why is it that we always have to go to war for everything? War seems to be the only result.

Another big issue with war is that it is very expensive. We barely have money for our education programs and other important things and we decide to use the money on something negative like war. Every hour, taxpayers in the United States are paying $10.17 million for Cost of War in Afghanistan. Every hour, taxpayers in the United States are paying $365,297 for Cost of War in Iraq. Every hour, taxpayers in the United States are paying $10.54 million for Total Cost of Wars Since 2001If we used this money on other things we could have a better education for our kids or help families with health care etc. There are many positive things we could do to help our communities or kids of our future.

There are many problems in the world that need change and it seems that war is more important then all of them. What is messed up about it is that it isn’t up to the people. The government gets to choose everything. If it were up to the people we wouldn’t be in war at all. We would think about other ways to have better results with better outcomes for everybody. We would try to resolve problems by helping each other and not only looking to violence. We are all in the same problems and should be helping each other instead of going against each other.
