Invisible Narrative

As doing the assignment I have discovered and learned many things about invisible narrative. We live in an invisible world, were our ideas are determine by other people. In class, we have talked about the different types of invisible narrative in our daily basis such as media, readings, schools and even in our own minds.

In our class discussions, we have talked about the different reading articles from class. One discovery  I learned from the readings were  the egg and the sperm. Before, I though scientist of all race and gender would  write the text books about biology and talk about the structure of the male and female body. However, white males are the ones who write these textbooks. An example I would say about an invisible narrative done in these textbooks are that the sperm of a male are powerful and the egg of the woman are weak. In the text, the egg in never first.

The picture on the left about the Silicon Valley was a topic we also talked about in class. As seeing this picture we think its just men thinking. However there a meaning behind this picture. The behind of this picture is that they are people who want to be like apple guy. Also, behind this picture is that their all white guys and only on Indian guy in the background. Meaning all engineers, computer science and similar jobs are for white guys mainly. As going through the conversation about this picture, I think differently about it.

I just gave some examples of invisible narrative which we live in. We see them every day but not think about it. From media, school our families and stories told to us are way society wants us to think. I believe society doesn't want this word equality and why we live in an invisible lives. As we are learning these information, we need to educate our peers, family and friend so we could do a change in society.

  1. The executive producer for Silicone Valley is Mike Judge! I kind of want to watch it because he's also the producer of King of the Hill and Beavis and Butt-Head, I love these two shows! to me that poster is pretty scary, they're coping the pose of one of the most famous entrepreneur, Steve Jobs. The whole problem here is that Steve jobs went through a roller coaster if you look behind the Apple Company. Techie jobs today are considered success but not everyone is interested in that. Either women or men we just have to find something we are all passionate about and that's the best success one could ever have, don't ever try to join the mainstream crowd because everything dies out eventually.
